A late injury forced Notre Dame to switch to Steve Angeli in the second quarter. Riley Leonard, the starting quarterback, exited the game and went straight to the medical tent. After taking a huge blow from a Penn State defender, Leonard stood up shakily.

After giving Leonard a quick glance, an official blew his whistle and told him to move toward the sidelines. Leonard was greeted by Notre Dame trainers and led into the tent. The organization has not released any official statements, but ESPN’s Sean McDonough believes the quarterback is undergoing concussion protocol.
