Jensen Huang, the founder of Nvidia, stood on stage in a crowded Las Vegas arena, amazed by the clear real-time computer visuals on the screen behind him. A dark-haired woman took in the rays of sunshine streaming in through stained glass windows as he watched her pass through elaborate gilded double doors.
Huang addressed a crowd of thousands at CES 2025 Monday night, “The quantity of geometry that you saw was simply unbelievable.” “Without artificial intelligence, it would not have been conceivable.”
The company’s most cutting-edge consumer graphics processor units for developers, producers, and gamers, the GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop and laptop GPUs, were announced. Both desktop and laptop computers can use the technology.
Nvidia’s stock increased 3.4% ahead of Huang’s address, breaking its previous high set in November. Despite growing criticism that their stock prices have already risen too quickly and too high, Nvidia and other AI stocks continue to soar. The industry keeps praising its potential in spite of concerns about a possible bubble.
Huang claimed that the GPUs, which make use of Blackwell, the company’s next-generation AI processor, can lead to advances in AI-driven rendering.
In addition to stating that Blackwell “is the most significant computer graphics invention since we released programmable shading 25 years ago,” Huang also said that Blackwell, the AI engine, had arrived for PC gamers, developers, and creatives. He stated that Blackwell technology is currently in full production.
Building on its technology from 25 years ago, Nvidia said it would also launch “RTX Neural Shaders,” which use artificial intelligence (AI) to help depict gaming characters in great detail. This is a famously difficult operation because people can immediately identify a minor error on digital humans.
According to Huang, Nvidia is also launching a new set of technologies that let “autonomous characters” think, plan, and behave like real gamers. These characters can assist players in devising plans or modifying ways to confront other players and create more dynamic battles.
Along with Nvidia, tech behemoths AMD, Google, and Samsung are also showcasing artificial intelligence solutions at CES 2025 to assist consumers and content creators in their pursuit of entertainment.
